Second Start Thoroughbreds is a listing service for Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse and Standardbred racehorses in Ontario, who are ready to start their second career.  Our goal is to network and connect racehorse owners/trainers with people who are looking for a Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse or Standardbred partner.

What We Do

Second Start Thoroughbreds offers racehorse owners and trainers a site to list their horses who are ready to retire from the track and move on to their next career.  These are horses who are still at the track or at a private training farm.  After receiving the listing, we actively market the listings and the website in the hopes of finding these majestic athletes a new career. 

It is of the utmost importance that the horses find loving and responsible homes. Second Start Thoroughbreds requires a brief questionnaire be filled out by prospective buyers and some owners may request a farm visit prior to selling their racehorse.  Second Start makes no commissions and collects no fees from either the seller or buyer.

We have helped to find homes for almost 350 horses since July, 2010!
